Gunn Hill [Lenox Township] - After an absence of 26 years, Jas. Harding of Deadwood Col., a brother of Emory, of Scranton, and Chapman, of Lenox, is shaking hands with his many friends in this community. He has been spending several days visiting relatives here. Mr. Harding has been Deputy Sheriff for four years and is held in very high esteem in his Western home, as he deserves to be for he is a gentleman in every sense of the word. He goes from here to Southern California.


Susquehanna - A correspondent of the Binghamton Republican says that a Lanesboro boy named Hulce has been tramping through several counties in search of his mother who some time ago married a second time and moved away. He is now in Scranton, and the people of that city are aiding him in his search.


Birchardville - Thursday morning, March 19, there was a young lad called at George Barton's. On account of his not being acclimated to the cold weather they decided to keep him until warm weather. Ten pounds. Set up the cigars, George.


Montrose - The surveyors of Susquehanna County will meet in Montrose, April 28, for the purpose of adjusting and verifying their compasses.


Dimock - There will be a warm sugar party at the house of F.L. Ely, Dimock, March 31, for the benefit of the aid society of the M.E. Church. Warm sugar will be served from 4 PM to 9 PM and longer if necessary.
