East Lenox - Claims to have the oldest inhabitant in this county, Abner Rose, who will be 96 next June.


Lynn - The home of A.A. Hempstead, below Lynn, came near burning Sunday night. A bucket brigade put out the flames, which were devouring the roof.


Susquehanna - John P. Kirtle sold his hotel on Main Street on Thursday, March 13, to Andrew Ryan. Mr. Ryan, being well known here as a highly esteemed citizen, will no doubt meet With success in his new business. Mr. Ryan took possession the day following.


News BriefMiscellaneous: The lightweight fight between Jack McAuliff and Jimmy Carroll, held at the California Athletic Club in San Francisco, ended with Carroll being knocked out in the 47th round. McAuliff had Jack Dempsey as a second. The purse for the winner amounted to $12,500. AND The financial statement of Bridgewater Twp. is printed in another column. The Supervisors of Bridgewater are in the habit of publishing their statements in both the Republican and Democrat, the taxpayers, regardless of party, may examine with comfort, while sitting by their firesides, the affairs of their town, instead of having to stand out in a blizzard to read one of those "statements such as are stuck up in some towns, the figures of which ate often fearfully and wonderfully made. The Bridgewater folks will rise up and call their supervisors blessed.


Union Dale - J.F. Boss, dealer in hardware and tin, has secured the agency for the celebrated McCormick mowers and reapers.
