Forest Lake - The courageous men of this place have been hunting the wild animal, which is in the woods southwest of Forest Lake. It has been seen by several people but as yet they have not decided whether it is a panther, catamount, lynx or something else.

Hop Bottom – In our last items we made a mistake. We were informed wrong about Miss Cora Wright teaching at the Acre. We are also thankful towards those who correct the mistakes made. Miss Cora's sister, Miss Lizzie, is teaching in the Colvin District. Also: Some time ago we wrote an item about a temperance lecture at Hop Bottom. We learn recently that it is thrown on Mr. Chas. Williams. We wish to state he had nothing to do with it. We should write the same warning again when needed, for we would like to save our young men by our voice and pen, if possible, and no offense was meant to anyone.
